Since the establishment in 2009, EEE department has continued to make significant contributions to social and humanitarian development through technology and research. With a vision to produce graduates in the discipline of state-of-the-art electronic, telecommunication and power system engineering EEE department is contributing towards creation of new knowledge and development. There are a number of research groups and centers operating under the umbrella of this department. The Control and Applications Research Center (CARC) focuses on the areas of systems and control engineering. The students from this department have developed the first nano-satellite of the country titled “BRAC Onnesha” in collaboration with Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan. Faculty members along with the students of this department have developed up-to-the-minute ground station to communicate with already deployed “BRAC Onnesha” from the International Space Station (ISS).

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering has 15 full-time faculty members. A good portion of the faculty members hold PhD’s and have conducted a substantial amount of research and gathered experience of teaching and working at related industries home and abroad. Most of the department’s faculty members hold master’s degrees from globally reputed universities and they are actively working in pushing the boundaries in their own fields of research, working as a team with students and research assistants towards the common goal of BRAC University in inspiring excellence.
